   OH YEAH! I think you’re getting the hang of HDR. The next thing you’ll probably want is a new Epson 7900 with its HDR print capabilities!

   Looks like all these HDR photos are connected to the bioluminescent Tree of Souls on the moon Pandora. James Cameron used augmented reality to shoot Avatar. Augmented reality is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are merged with (or augmented by) virtual computer-generated imagery – creating a mixed reality. Sounds and looks like what you’re doing here. Now if you could make your human subjects blue and add those neat tails that let you plug into nature, you’d sell lots of mugs to the Na’vi.

   Well — I’ve got the basic ideas down now; but I don’t have that much to work from in terms of source files. This last one is two images, only 3/4 of a stop apart or so. Show with the rebel. But it does give me a lot of ideas, and again – thanks so much for the tip about Photomatix. I was lost without it. Uhm is there really a 7900 with HDR capabilities. I’ll have to take a look at that since I don’t know what that would mean exactly – ability to print from 32 bit files. I can’t even import those big files into LR with my OS. It does seem to give new life to the 40D

   This is really ‘exposure blending’ rather than HDR. I find it works nicely when converting to b&w but it would be a PS workflow.
   Just another option that you might like. Works well when using one RAW file processed over and under also.
