911-reading

The day after 9/11.  I couldn’t get very close to ground zero, so I wandered around Chinatown.  The smell of the bombing was still in the air.  And the Chinese were reading the news on sheets of newspaper tacked up on boards.  If you ever visit China – you’ll see this is a common way of getting the latest.  Though today, you’d probably just find everyone in Chinatown on cells.  But it will go well with the other viewing collection.  As I say, I mostly concentrated on people’s reactions to the event.
