Someone asked, the other day, in a comment whether I had a favorite photo, and I’m sure I gave a half-assed answer. But at least as far as Paris goes, this is probably in my top five. It wasn’t the pathos, but the way this guy with crippled legs, was enjoying himself and kidding around with the children. He wasn’t the only vagabond / street musician / beggar – that had this joie de vie (sp?) – if you know what I mean.
And of course, the fact that he was with the cat, that was the cherry on top for me. I have another shot somewhere, also good, of the kids that he’s looking at, making faces at him; if I can find it… Sure… must be on the same strip.
Please, if you live in Paris, don’t write to tell me there’s nothing wrong with his legs, and that he is a terrible accordion player. I don’t want to know. I like to think that he stepped out of Germinal or Les Miserables.

I was the one who asked, and I can see why this one rates so high on your list!
