This is one of those pictures from “the old days” in the Bronx that I still love.  And although it will prove to be completely unsellable, I’m going to put it into the store.  Frankly, part of my plan when I began to re-organize the store was to set it up in such a way that there would be lots of thumbnails that people could just skip over; most people, and that every once in a while someone might see something that at least warranted a click.

The thing that I do remember about this, was that we were driving along the Bruckner, and I was with my sister and forced her to pull over although there wasn’t much of a shoulder.  And I pulled the tripod out from the backseat (why I had the tripod with me I don’t remember) and set this up to just frame that whatever it is at the top of the frame and that it was what we called, “the magic hour” when lights are just coming on and the sun is just below the horizon.

I suppose that what makes this still interesting is the little house, all patched up, in the middle of all these junked cars, at a point where the river splits.  I have kept a lookout for this spot whenever I go up to the Bronx (there are still relatives up there) but I believe it’s long gone.

AutoGraveyard

Do you ever think, that maybe modern ruins are as beautiful, in their own way as ancient ruins?
