One thing I’ll tell you – this is the busiest that I’ve ever been in the history of the business. Not only orders from regular customers, but several design firm prospects, two shoots I’ve agreed to do (musicians), just one thing after another. I haven’t had time to post anything on Pixiq in a while, though I have a list of ideas.

Problem is – they all take too long to do, i.e. paying jobs come first.

And on top of doing a lot of testing of trial versions of NIK software – I bit the bullet (money has been coming in) and bought the suite of filters for Lightroom. So some of what you’re starting to see are NIK filter results. They’ve been very helpful filters for color work. The b&w filters are also good, but nothing I couldn’t do with my own presets. But the color stuff is just a big candy store of choices.

I also like their HDR set which is easier for me (or at least quicker) than the Photomatix I had been using.

And to top it off, there’s an excellent workflow – similar to a workflow I used a long time ago with another product (which my mind just went blank on) dealing with sharpening well – both for the raw file, and later for the print.

And then there are possible projects that I can’t talk about publicly (not that they’re illegal) but that are an investment of time. And after a full day of printing, and not really catching up, another order just came in.

I might take on an intern. I have several resumes – but I’m waiting until they’re off for the holidays.
