Talk about the liberal attitude in Paris towards public displays of affection. I was there in 1979 riding in the back of a bus and across from me there was a young couple engaged in the kind of foreplay one might see in an X-rated film. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera with me.
After reaching my destination, which was some famous park, I was approached by another young couple. I was sure that they were going to suggest a menage a trois. Instead, they asked, “Ou est le Skylab?” At that moment the NASA satellite was slowly falling towards the earth, breaking up into little bits of debris.
We started talking, me in my halting college French, and they were surprised I was an American. They said I looked like a “continental.” That was one of the best compliments I ever got in my life. We went on to discuss the July 20th anniversary of the moon landing which was coming up in a few days. But no menage a trois.

Great photo Dave! It makes me want to go back to France…I loved France. It made me feel like I belonged there. There really is something magical about Paris. It makes you feel young, like love is in the air (and I was there with my sisters!), the food is scrumptious, and people seem lots free-er with themselves. It’s a beautiful place!
Whatever you purchase from B&H Photo will add a few dollars to my bank account. And that is always appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I've been using them for about 25 years. Going back to the time way before the superstore they have now). Dave
