Along the lines of An American Girl in Italy by Ruth Orkin – though someone told me that shot was setup. I don’t know that for sure; though this was definitely not setup, just a matter of lingering on the corner.

  1. This photo is a lot of fun! I immediately saw the 3rd guy from the right on the lower step, with that great expression, checking her out. But as I kept on looking, I found seven more guys doing the same thing, with various degrees ranging from complete openness to a sly glance.

  2. This is a misleading photo, Dave. I’m sure that many of the construction workers chose to take their lunch break inside the library.

  3. I think Lester is right. And the fellow in the hardhat and his bearded companion are not ogling the girl… they are discussion Schopenhauer’s criticism of Kant. My bad!

  4. I like it. Glad you got at least one construction worker with a hard hat.

  5. “I immediately saw the 3rd guy from the right…”

Yes, Steve, that’s exactly what I saw. The girl appears to be gritting her teeth. I think she’s been in that situation before.

Email me if you can’t leave a comment with info about your op sys. Mac or pc. And your browser.

  8. Thanks! I didn’t know the details behind the Orkin shot.

  9. I like the guy that is walking up the steps and looking over his shoulder at the same time. It must be grueling to be an attractive woman in New York City.
