Okay Steve – and anyone else. How many buildings can you name. I can name three. One is very easy. In fact, 300 of my prints, are in one of those buildings.
Now ya got me! I’m not any good at lower-lower Manhattan architecture. I recognize Pier A in the foreground just left of center and 17 State Street, the quarter-round building – but that’s about it.
Okay, now I’ll have to do some studying :-)
Oh yeah, the former U.S. Customs House is in the lower left corner!
Just remembered the name of the “Waffle Building” … it’s 1 New York Plaza. Just last year, I was surprised to learn that it’s the southern-most skyscraper in Manhattan. I had thought it would be the building along State Street, but the NNW tilt of Manhattans long axis makes it just by South Ferry.
OK, that’s it – I *know* that I don’t know the rest of the buildings there.
