*Mother and Child Reunion*
She and her husband were travelling in the states, probably from Spain, and I ran into this scene in a coffee shop and understood enough of the language to know it was her child.

So this is the modern reunion of mother and child. Title is of course from the Paul Simon song:
No I would not give you false hope
On this strange and mournful day
But the mother and child reunion
Is only a motion away

Little darling of mine.

So the baby will remember seeing momma on the screen talking to her from another country. And momma will remember seeing baby on the screen, sticking her tongue out at her from the crib. It reminds me of a scene in 2011 A Space Odyssey but even beyond that where the traveller goes into a phone booth and wishes his daughter a happy birthday on the video phone. But now the video phone is transformed into a mini-monolith. Or a slab with moving pictures on it. Magic. Mystery. My what a long space trip its been.
