After a bunch of research (why not) I just placed an order for the N2A 16GB Card for the Nook Color.  It was suggested by a reader and what it does is turn your Nook Color into an Android Tablet. (Thanks to Skip who suggested it in a comment).

Here’s the PC Magazine Article about the N2A card and a link to the site where I bought it, though you can get it from Amazon and other places.

What it does is turn your Nook Color into a full-fledged Android Tablet.

There are good and bad points to the solution, but mostly they have to do with what the NOOK COLOR, given it’s hardware configuration is able to support.  On the other hand – it will give you access to all the usual Android Apps (and I need and want a lot of them) and I’m just not crazy about the NOOK COLOR software anyway.  I’d much rather use applications that I’m used to.

It will also supply some extra room for file storage.

And it doesn’t void the warranty, because basically it’s just turning your system into a dual boot system.  I should have it in a view days and will do a post about it.  You can’t really ever take the programmer out of the guy and this appeals to those old programming skills.
