Okay, just made quick movie with Canon 500D (cat – what else) and posted to YouTube:

Uhm… you don’t need to watch the movie unless you’re really bored, but how do I get the code to embed it in my wordpress (self-hosted) blog?
Well, maybe you might watch a little bit of it, if you want to see my big toe.

oops… okay, I got it:

Dave, to embed a You Tube video, you sign into your You Tube account, pull up the video, and look for the embed button. Click that, and the code will be displayed in a small window ready for copy and paste. Open your WordPress site. Start a new post. Write an introduction (or not) and then click on the html tab. Paste your embed code into the post. You may need to change the width of the video display–only two places. Click back to visual. Preview and then publish.
All of my videos are published first on You Tube and then embedded where I need them. It works great and saves storage and data transfer on my web site.

Video edited with? Adobe Premiere Elements? –Brent
edited (barely) with iMovie which comes with the mac. Looks easy to use; given a week or so and I could put together a nice tutorial on street shooting. The 500D let’s you take a shot while you are in movie mode. There’s a bit of a delay, but still – you could be walking along filming and hit the shutter release; and later put the still into the clip.
Compared with Adobe Premiere etc — who knows. Premiere crashed too often on my PC for me to really get much use out of it.
