  1. Nice figure!
Is this the black mat board effect with a little adhesive seeping off the edges? I’m not sure if this is the best way to present your pictures, although the absence of the corporate logo is a nice change…Those highlights (look at the van) are still giving you problems…Flashing them with some tracing paper in the darkroom is still a better way to subdue them, which is pretty funny considering all the technology you have at your disposal…

  4. How to take a photo like this . . . from the front?

    A tilting-LCD camera?

Certainly there would be a reaction from the subject to a big SLR.

    Might have to hire a model . . .??

  5. Nikon already has a tilted LCD on their new dslrs; and a photo like this can be taken from the front. I didn’t want to. But I have images like this taken from the front – if there is a crowd around. A camera, whether a dslr or a p/s with a swivel LCD makes it much easier to do certain types of street shots because you’re looking down or sideways. The right-angle finder used on SLRs and Leicas was often used by street shooters like HCB. I did a lot of this sort of shooting with the Canon 640 (I think that’s what it was) which has a swivel LCD but the problem was the quality of the images was crappy; and the great depth of field was annoying and on top of that it didn’t do RAW and there was a bit of shutter lag that was annoying. A small dslr with a swivel LCD could be very handy; and I would like to see Canon offer it.
