circa 1995, early morning. This was actually done on a tripod with a medium format camera. It was a big heavy thing – the Pentax 67. And was it ever noisy when the mirror slapped down.
The guy crossing the Brooklyn bridge was completely oblivious of me. This is one of my personal favorites. If you think about it – I was using this large camera on a tripod – and the guy was walking towards me for a long time – and never looked up – not even when the camera made a huge clunk sound. Recently chosen to be published in the Spider Awards – The World’s Greatest Black and White Photographers, Vol. 1, 2007
