This was taken in 1995 on my way to my "day job" in an ad firm. I was enough of a fanatic to carry my tripod and medium format camera to work most days. That evening, on the way home from work, it began to rain and I stood on 23rd street and took this shot. The famous flat iron building in silhouette, with the tower of the Metropolitan Life Building on left and such a beautiful mist lit by the tower. I suppose it was around this time I began to see that I was a throwback to the old pictorialists.
