Frankly, this sort of image is almost impossible to shoot nowadays (post 9/11). It was photographed with a 4 x 5 view camera (a very large negative) in 1991. It could easily be blown up to 60 inches wide without showing any grain at all. And in fact is most interesting at larger sizes where you can see a tremendous amount of detail that simply isn’t going to be visible in this small web jpg. The movement / blur is from a long exposure, common with these cameras, of people getting onto a train.
