EXTRA LARGE PRINTS
I also offer print sizes that are not listed on the site. THESE ARE CUSTOM JOBS AND MUST GO OUT TO A LAB I USE ON THE WEST COAST (West Coast Imaging). I HAVE THEM DROP-SHIPPED FROM THE LAB DIRECTLY TO THE CUSTOMER.
However, As you look through the images, keep in mind that not every image can go super large. Many prints were done with a 4×5 view camera and will go large without a hint of grain. Others will be grainy if they are blown up to say 40 x 60 inches, but the grain may not bother you at all at a normal viewing distance. In short, please contact me about the extra large prints so we can talk it over.
I use this west coast lab because they use the exact same inks, paper, and profile that I use. There printer is simply larger. I have used them for years now, and know that the prints will be exactly the same as my own prints, only larger. Sometimes, if it is a large order, I will order a proof from them which means that the turnaround will be longer.
Unlike the prints that I do, I cannot offer a full-money back return on prints done by the lab. I haven’t had a single return to date, but just in case, you should know that I will offer 1/2 the retail cost and the return of the order (unless the return is based on shipping damage). This seems only fair as I’m paying the lab a fair amount and am doing prep work on the print.
NORMAL TURNAROUND TIME FOR THIS LAB IS ABOUT THREE WEEKS. ALSO, SINCE I AM PAYING THE LAB A HEFTY AMOUNT TO DO THE PRINTS WITH THE SAME PAPER / INK COMBINATION AND I NEED TO PREPARE THE PRINTS FOR THE LARGER SIZE, YOU CAN EXPECT YOUR COST WILL BE IN THE $500 RANGE.
