How Long To Receive the Prints?
Normal domestic delivery time is 2 weeks from the time you order (more or less). If I’m very busy, it can take longer. Make sure to contact me if you need your prints rushed. All shipping is via Fedex.
Domestic Fedex Shipping is FREE. Fedex deliveries require an indirect signature (any adult can sign for them). I can ship without signature required if you let me know.
Do You Ship International Orders?Yes. Shipping is by Fedex. If your country isn’t available during checkout, let me know. The default cost, whether it is England or Australia, is going to be $95. That makes no sense if you are ordering one 5 x 7, but I don’t really want to ship one 5 x 7 overseas because of the amount of paper work and packaging involved. So once your order is in the $300 range, it’s fair and if it’s more than that, it’s very fair. Fedex is fast, and reliable and very easy to track. Canada will be less expensive since it can go ground.
The beckermanphoto.com logo is not on the actual prints.
I’m nervous about ordering over the web. Security: All transactions are through the Paypal which has a few million users. One benefit is that I never see or store your credit card information. Another benefit is that they offer insurance for most transactions. Paypal accepts most credit cards, e-checks, and if you have a Paypal account – paypal payments. I use Paypal for all transactions, including my own purchases on the web.
Do you do framing? Definitely not. Framing is an entirely different business and just a the business of packaging frames for shipment requires too much time. I do offer a page with framing instructions along with your order.
Tell Me About the Matting
If you chose a matted print, the print will be attached with archival tabs to acid free backing, and a 4-ply white bevel cut window shows off the print nicely. Matted prints are signed and dated in the lower right hand corner. If it is a Limited Edition print, and matted, then the mat is also numbered in the lower left hand corner. Example: 10/100. Both matted and unmatted prints will have a signed Certificate of Authenticity. I only offer the one white color mat. If you already have a frame with a correctly cut mat, then order the unmatted print.
Are you in any galleries? No, and that is by design. When these prints were in New York galleries (when I began the business in ‘99) prints sold for many times the cost of what I offer on the this site. The largest show I ever did had 20 16 x 20 prints. I wanted to offer a larger selection of sizes at more reasonable prices and began to offer prints on the web. I realize that many people would like to see the actual prints before buying them. If you are familiar with the New York gallery scene you know that it is unlikely to find any print under $300. Since I can’t do physical gallery shows and web sales of the same prints I offer a very simple hassle-free return policy. I may have had two returns (which were actually exchanges) in the last ten years, so I’m comfortable making that offer. As a general rule, the larger the print, the more detail you’ll find in the actual print.
Let me know if it is a gift and being shipped directly to the recipient. In this case I will not include the packing slip, and will include a gift card if you like with some words from you.
Can I stop by to visit your store?
As much as I enjoy meeting people who purchase my prints, I generally say no because a) this isn’t a store it’s my apartment and b) it usually means making an appointment and waiting for what may or may not be a purchase. I’m usually very busy with various projects and it is just simpler to do this through the website. On the other hand, if you purchase a print(s) and live nearby and it’s a rush order, I can make time to meet you in the lobby and hand off the package to you.
Do you offer a trade discount? That depends on the cost of the order.
Do you license images?Yes. There is no set fee. It depends on the scope of your project.
What if I don’t like the print? What is your return policy? You can return the print(s) for any reason. Complete hassle-free return policy, and I will pay for return shipping charges. But what is the time limit? Let’s say six months. You can also return a print in exchange for a different print. In other words, I will do whatever it takes to make sure you are completely happy with your order. Period.
What if I want a larger print? It depends on the image. In most cases I can do larger prints, but they make take longer to produce, and they will cost more. I recently went out and shot a particular building for a customer who wanted a 40 x 60 inch print. It was perfectly done, and he was thrilled with it. Cost: $750 including my time to do the shoot.
Are you available for assignments?
Sometimes. It really depends on the nature of the project. I don’t do weddings or posed shots, but I will work on a project if it interests me. An example was, I did most of the photography for a recent book about John Lennon.
