I had thought about this shot for a long time and came prepared with a monopod and camera that could be raised above the crowd and shot without flash with a long cable release. The idea was to show how new the world was with the entire scene filled with the light of smart phone LCDs. I was on 7th avenue and 37th street looking towards Times Square. The fireworks are visible on the horizon. I think it is one of those shots that says something and is fascinating to look at. I put it into the Best Sellers category so people would see it – but of course it just went up (Jan. 9th) so it can’t really be a best seller – just a potential one.

The number one NYC tourist event, or is it the marathon?

*SPOILER ALERT* This shot (with others) appears in the feature documentary More Than The Rainbow starring Matt Weber. It was quite spectacular to see it on a large movie screen and I remember at the premiere that a gasp went through the audience when it was shown.
