Stock Photography of New York

Every licensing request is a little different.  But here are some general guidelines:

PHOTO LICENSING FOR ART BUYERS, INTERIOR DESIGNERS

If your final goal is making prints for hotels, condos, corporate offices, hospitals etc. and you plan on producing a fair amount of prints, licensing high resolution files is the most cost effective way to go. You will be responsible for having the prints produced, choosing the paper, and all that goes into producing prints. Pricing for this sort of production depends on a few factors: how many different images are involved; what the final print size will be; and how many duplicates of each image you will be making.

Although I can’t give you a price without knowing these specifics, I can say that you will save money by licensing the non-exclusive rights to have these files printed. In all cases, payment must proceed the delivery of the digital files.

PHOTO LICENSE FOR PRODUCTS

$100 to $200  for non-exclusive license for: CDs, Books (including book covers), Calendars, Magazine Covers depending on an estimate of how many times the final media will be seen.

Not all images are available for ads as the candid street photography shots do not have model releases.

Images can also be licensed for personal use for $50.  The possible uses are simply to make your own cards (not for resale) or poster (not for resale) but great for gifts etc.  Definitely not for resale or any commercial purpose.

Personal Website License: $25 (size depends on original scan)

Commercial License (non advertising): $75 (size depends on original scan / size. Can be interpolated if needed.) For use within a corporate environment. Could be used for a corporate brochure, or holiday cards etc. But not for resale.

Commercial License for Resale or to decorate a corporate building (for example). Here each case is different and depends on number of files, how many are being ordered etc. To be negotiated.

Commercial License for Advertisement. To be discussed.

Exclusive licensing is rare, but you never know.  Anything is possible for the right price.

The way this works is that you email me and let me know what you’re interested in licensing.  I’ll quote you a price.  If it’s okay, I’ll send an electronic email for payment.

When payment is received I can usually get the high resolution file (300 dpi, Adobe RGB 98 High Level JPG) or web file (1024 pixels as largest side) to you within a day.

  1. Hi Dave,

I work for an architecture firm and would like to use your image for our holiday Ecard. Would this fall under the $50 licensing?

    Thank you,

    Bianca
