You’ll find the McAfee Secure logo on each page. This is not just a logo that anyone can put up. It means that the site is thoroughly tested, every day by McAfee for hundreds of possible vulnerabilities. Everyday, I receive an email from McAfee with the current security state of the site, and whether they’ve found any issues that need to be dealt with. You’ll find this logo on most major ecommerce sites.

Another common way to prevent spoofing or fraud is to simply do a google search for the business you are investigating. In my case, if you were to search for Dave Beckerman Photography, google will bring back many links, some going back to 1999 when the site began. You’ll find reviews, and links to my images, and you may even find advice I’ve given to other photographers. It will be daunting because with all the links that are brought back you’ll also find awards that I’ve won, and all sorts of projects I’ve worked on.

In short, this would be very difficult, if not impossible, to make up.
